Tiki Barber to attempt an NFL comeback?
Written by The Go-To-Man Mattie T. on March 9, 2011
Apparently, Tiki Barber doesn’t feel that the NFL is a “young man’s game” anymore.
Barring a lockout, the 35-year old running back will come out of retirement after a 5-year hiatus to play football in 2011.
It will not be for the New York Giants, whom Barber spent his entire 9-year career with prior to his latest comeback attempt.
A look around the league though suggests that Barber will have a difficult time finding work, as there’s only four active running backs (Miami’s 33-year old Ricky Williams, Kansas City’s 32-year old Thomas Jones, N.Y. Jets’ 31-year old LaDainian Tomlinson & Buffalo’s 30-year old Fred Jackson) who are receiving a significant amount of playing time at or over the age of 30.
So i ask Barber this….is his “comeback” attempt nothing but a publicity stunt, or is he really ready to dedicate his life to football again?
We should know more in the next couple of months..
