Josh Hamilton out indefinitely with rib injury..

Written by on September 6, 2010

Josh Hamilton is hoping that his latest injury won’t hurt his chances of winning MVP.

The Texas Rangers’ 3-time All Star outfielder hurt his ribs while running into an outfield wall Saturday in Minnesota & will be sidelined indefinitely.

The injury interrupts a stellar year by Hamilton, as he’s leading the American League in batting average (.361), has a career-best on-base percentage (.414), and is one home run shy from tying a career-high of 32 during the 2008 season.

Since the Rangers have the biggest division lead (8 games) out of all the first-place teams, Hamilton could use the rest. But will he be 100% for the playoffs?
