Prior to their 3-2 loss against the San Francisco Giants, the Atlanta Braves put together a special pre-game ceremony to honor one of their greatest all-time pitchers, as Tom Glavine’s #47 was officially retired by the team.
He’s just the 7th Braves player to have his jersey number retired & the first since Greg Maddux had his #31 retired last season.
Glavine enjoyed five 20 win seasons, won 305 games & is just one of only six left handers to ever win 300 games or more in the majors.
His brief comeback with Atlanta last season was ended due to shoulder & elbow problems, but he’s currently working on some Braves’ radio & TV broadcasts.
