In a last-minute effort to obtain more cap room for Thursday’s much anticipated start of free agency, the New Jersey Nets traded forward Yi Jianlian to the Washington Wizards, who in return will trade forward Quinton Ross & an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Nets will now have roughly $30 million to spend in the 2010 Free Agent frenzy & are scheduled to visit with LeBron James in Ohio later this week.

New Jersey selected Derrick Favors with the 3rd pick of the NBA Draft last week, as he could eventually become Jianlian’s replacement at power forward.

Jianlian averaged a career-high 12.0 points  & 7.2 rebounds per game last season for the Nets.
