Mattie T’s Game 4 Recap of the 2010 NBA Finals

Written by on June 11, 2010

With Ray Allen & Kevin Garnett combining to shoot 9-for-24 on Thursday, the Celtics needed a big lift-me-up performance from someone.

Glen Davis & Nate Robinson did just that, as the twosome scored 30 of the Boston Celtics’ 36 bench points to key them to a 96-89 win over the Los Angeles  Lakers, which now ties the NBA Finals at two games apiece.

For the first time in the series, Kobe Bryant had more turnovers (7) then assists (2), as the Lakers were sloppy throughout the game with their ballhandling.

A developing story though to follow is the status of Andrew Bynum, who was not on the floor to start the 2nd half Thursday & was limited to just 12 minutes of playing time.

That could mean a bigger role for the 6’10 Lamar Odom, who had his second good game off the bench with 10 points & 7 rebounds despite the 5 fouls.

Kobe admitted afterwards that his team was outplayed in Game 4:

“They got all the energy points, the hustle points, second chance points, points in the paint, beat us to the loose balls. I mean, that’s how the game turned around.”
