In a game that featured two controversial goal calls, the Philadelphia Flyers were able to outlast the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in sudden-death overtime.
Scott Hartnell had a non-goal overturned in regulation, while Simon Gagne’s apparent game-winner in overtime was called back.
Clauide Giroux wound up being the hero for the Flyers, as his 9th goal of the postseason avoided a sweep & guaranteed a Game 5 back in Chicago on Sunday evening.
Jonathan Toews (1 assist) & Patrick Kane (1 goal, 1 assist) got involved for the first time in this series, but it wasn’t enough as Philadelphia dominated with a 15-to-4 shots-on-goal advantage in the 3rd period.
Dustin Byfuglien continued to struggle, as he had 2 separate penalties (roughing/slashing) & has yet to score a point in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Game 4 will be played on Friday night in Philadelphia, as Chicago will try to take a 3-1 series lead back home for a possible title clincher on Sunday.
