Roy Halladay pitches perfect game against Florida!

Written by on May 30, 2010

Roy Halladay became the 20th major-leaguer pitcher & third within the past year to throw a perfect game, as the Philadelphia Phillies took advantage of a Florida Marlins’ 3rd inning error to win 1-0 on Saturday evening in Miami.

It was nearly broken up in the bottom of the 9th, as Mike Lamb flied out to the back of the warning track in deep centerfield before Shane Victorino was able to haul it in.

Wes Helms then struck out looking before Ronny Paulino grounded out to Placido Polanco at 3rd base to end the perfect game.

It’s just the 2nd perfect game in Phillies’ history, as Kevin Millwood did it in 2003 against the San Francisco Giants.
