In Artest We Trust: Last-second putback lifts LA to Game 5 Win!

In a game where they nearly blew a 18-point lead in the 2nd half, Ron Artest saved the day with a buzzer-beating putback that lifted the Los Angeles Lakers to a 103-101 win over the Phoenix Suns in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday evening.
It was definitely a wild finish, as Phoenix’s Jason Richardson hit a bank-shot three pointer to tie it up with 3.5 left.
Ron Artest made up for an ill-advised shot earlier in the 4th quarter, as he snuck into the paint to follow up on a Kobe Bryant airball & put it in right before the buzzer sounded, as that gave the Lakers a thrilling win & now puts them just 48 minutes away from a shot at a 16th championship.
Even though the Suns lost a heartbreaker, Steve Nash doesn’t think the series is quite over yet:
“Everything is OK. We can’t knock a great effort. Maybe we deserved this game, maybe we didn’t. They held home court. We’ll go back and do the same, and we’ll come back here for Game 7.”
Game 6 will be played in Phoenix on Sunday evening.
