The Washington Nationals received a huge scare prior to their 10-7 loss to the New York Mets on Thursday, as principal owner Mark Lerner got struck by a ball during batting practice at Nationals Park.
Lerner will occasionally shag fly balls in full uniform, as he did on Thursday.
According to the Washington Post, Lerner was struck on the bridge of his nose, which caused bleeding & required stitches.
It is unsure if Lerner will be in attendance for tonight’s game, as the Nationals begin interleague play as they will host the Baltimore Orioles.
