Rod Thorn will give up his team president position to return to a familiar role, as he’ll be the New Jersey Nets’ General Manager for the 2010-11 season.
Thorn has had a great track record as general manager in the past, as he helped engineer the Chicago Bulls’ draft selection of Michael Jordan in 1984 & also triggered the Stephon Marbury-for-Jason Kidd trade in 2001, which led the Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals appearences.
Thorn will be replacing Kiki Vandeweghe, which ends his run of more than 2 years with the team.
