According of Tom Ziller of Sactown Royalty, Sacramento Kings’ guard Tyreke Evans will be named the 2009-10 Rookie of the Year winner on either Thursday or Friday.
Evans will now join some exclusive company, as his 20.1 points, 5.8 assists & 5.3 rebounds makes him just the 4th player in league history to average 20-5-5 in their rookie season.
The other three? Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson & LeBron James.
He was able to beat out Golden State’s Stephen Curry & Milwaukee’ Brandon Jennings in a tightly contested race, as he’ll become the 2nd straight former University of Memphis player to win Rookie of the Year after Chicago’s Derrick Rose captured last year’s trophy.
