Mattie T’s Conference Championship Predictions

Jets vs. Colts.
Classic matchup of strong defense vs. strong offense as the surprising Jets look to make their first Super Bowl appearence in 41 years.
To do that, they’ll have to get past Peyton Manning, who will play in his 3rd career AFC Championship Game & 1st that’s not against the Patriots.
The Jets feature a strong defense led by shutdown cornerback Darrelle Revis, who held Reggie Wayne to just 3 receptions during their Week 16 meeting.
Shaun Ellis will play with a broken hand, as his pressure will be vital to try & slow down Manning.
Wayne might be contained, but Dallas Clark could come up big if hard-hitting safeties Kerry Rhoades & Jim Leonhard are over-aggressive.
I see this being a very close game, but Manning makes just enough plays to lead Indianapolis to their 2nd Super Bowl in the past 5 years.
Vikings vs. Saints.
It’s Favre vs. Brees, as the NFC’s top two teams will hookup at the Superdome with a Super Bowl berth on the line.
In what figures to be a hostile enviroment, Favre will use a silent count whenever Minnesota has the football on offense.
The Vikings will need a strong game out of Adrian Peterson, who hasn’t rushed for 100 yards or more since November 15th against Detroit.
Drew Brees has been nearly unstoppable at home, as he’s averaged 303.2 passing yards per game with eye-popping totals of 23 touchdown passes & just 4 interceptions.
This will be a very close game, but that special Superdome advantage will just be enough to lift New Orleans to their first ever Super Bowl berth.
