History was made on Sunday afternoon from Seattle’s QWEST Field, as Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson became just the 6th player in league history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season after his 134 yard effort during their 17-13 win.
There was an opportunity to go for Eric Dickerson’s single-season record of 2,105 rushing yards after his 62-yard dash for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but it was called back due to offensive holding.
Johnson is the first NFL back to reach the 2,000 yard plateau since Baltimore’s Jamal Lewis rushed for 2,066 yards in 2003.
