Jimmy Rollins’ GW hit wins it for Phillies

The Los Angeles Dodgers were just 1 out away from tying the NLCS up when Jonathan Broxton served up his biggest mistake of the playoffs.

After walking Matt Stairs on 4 pitches & hitting Carlos Ruiz, Jimmy Rollins came up 2 batters later & lashed a game-winning 2-run double to the gap in right center, which gave a Philadelphia 5-4 win & put them just one win away from a return trip to the Fall Classic.

One more win would also mark the first time in the team’s 126 year history that they have made back-to-back World Series appearences.

Cole Hamels will try to end the series for the Phillies on Wednesday, as he beat the Dodgers in Game 1 after pitching 5 1/3 innings & allowed 4 runs on 8 hits despite giving up two home runs.
