Giants sign Brad Penny to minor league deal..

For the 2nd straight season, Brad Penny will pitch for an NL West contender.
The San Francisco Giants inked the 32-year old righthander to a minor league deal late Monday, as he will make his debut later today against the defending World Champion Philadelphia Phillies.
Penny spent a majority of the 2009 season with the Boston Red Sox, but struggled as he posted a 5.61 ERA in 24 starts while finshing 7-8.
Brad has had two back-to-back lackluster seasons since winning 16 games apiece for the Los Angeles Dodgers in both 2006 & 2007.
He does bring postseason experience to the Giants, as he is 3-2 in 5 career playoff starts with a 6.26 ERA.
Penny was also part of the 2003 Florida Marlins team that beat the New York Yankees to capture just the team’s 2nd World Series win in franchise history.
He has a career record of 3-2 in 10 starts at AT&T Park with a 3.86 ERA.
