The Jay Cutler era in Chicago will officially get underway tonight, as the Chicago Bears will clash with the Buffalo Bills at 6pm CST from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchid Park, N.Y.
Bears head coach Lovie Smith will play Cutler into the 2nd quarter before the backup spot competition begins between Caleb Hanie & Brett Basanez.
Chicago is also hoping for one of their unproven wide receivers to stand out tonight, as the candidates include Devin Aromashodu, Earl Bennett, Juaquin Iglesias, Derek Kinder, Johnny Knox & Brandon Rideau to compete for playing time alongside Devin Hester & Rashied Davis.
Bears’ defensive tackle Tommie Harris will most likely sit out Saturday’s game, as he continues to nurse his knee injury.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens will not play Saturday due to a toe injury that he suffered during last Sunday’s Hall of Fame game against the Tennessee Titans.
Former Bears quarterback Kyle Orton struggled in his Denver Broncos’ debut, as Orton completed 9 of 16 passes for 89 yards & threw 3 interceptions during San Francisco’s 17-16 win last night.
Rex Grossman will make his Houston Texans debut later tonight against Kansas City.
