Dog Fighting in Lombard
Written by DJ Special Blend from Chicago on June 19, 2009
Two men have been indited on dog fighting charges after allegedly engaging their pit bulls in a fight at a party last month.
Brian Moll, 22, of the 100 block of South Lombard Avenue, and Robert Kollman, 21, of the 300 block of North Grace Street, were indicted by the DuPage County Grand Jury for dog fighting and are to be arraigned Monday for “conducting a fight between dogs for the purpose of entertainment.”
The two pit bulls, Rampage, owned by Kollman, and Ace, owned by Moll, were not seriously injured and have been housed at the DuPage County Animal Control Shelter since the May 23 incident (Chicagobreakingnews)
First of all, I’m glad the dogs are doing okay.
Secondly, I’m curious as to whether these were two peeps who train dogs to fight, or two silly dog owners who brought their dogs to a party, and then let some stupid shit go too far:
Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Cronin said prosecutors believe this may be the first time that a person has been indicted in the county for dog fighting.
Police were called at 2:45 a.m. to Kollman’s house and found a crowd at the site of the dog house.
Moll and Kollman, who are each out of jail on $10,000 bail, claimed to police that they were attending the party with their pets when the two dogs got into a fight.
Whatever the case, being a pit bull owner at a party full of people, with another pit bull owner present with his dog doesn’t sound like the best choice to make. Let alone letting whatever happened get to the point in which the fuzz is called? Come on now…. (did I just say fuzz?)
Hopefully, those dudes are not trainers and they just made a mistake that they will have learned a lesson from when it’s all said and done.
I’m not gonna even mention Michael Vick… (did I just mention Micheal Vick?)
