BROOKSVILLE, FL – The Long Island Press reports that the city council of Brooksville, FL has a new dress code that will require city employees to wear deodorant and underwear.
(AP) – A Florida city is cleaning up with a new dress code that requires city workers to wear underwear and use deodorant.
The city council in Brooksville north of Tampa recently approved a dress code that instructs employees to observe “strict personal hygiene.”
It also prohibits exposed underwear, clothing with foul language, “sexually provocative” clothes and piercings anywhere except the ears.
I can understand clothing with foul language, earrings popping out of every opening, and even the exposed underwear that comes with saggy pants when you are in a professional environment.
Don’t get me wrong, if you are getting paid to stand in front of a camera and do those things, or even if you do it as leisure, then more power to you.
What I’m tryna figure out is how will the city council know if you don’t have on any drawers?
I can even reach out and give them the deodorant thing because some cultures may not have been exposed to such luxuries.
But, how does your supervisor know if your family-jewels are out like that?
- Do they get to check if they notice a little too much free movement?
- Will there be random spot checks where the undergarment police make rounds?
- X-Rays at the front door when you show your ID?
- Office pantie raids?
- Are they gonna provide an extra uniform allowance so that the workers can be up to code?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for looking professional.
The funny part is that the mayor of the town is against the underwear restriction:
The one vote in opposition came from Mayor Joe Bernadini. He said the underwear edict “takes away freedom of choice.”
