Tom Joyner Back On The Air in Chicago
Written by DJ Special Blend from Chicago on April 20, 2009
The TJMS will be back in effect on the airwaves in Chicago soon, and it will be on 106.3 FM.
After being on the air on 102.7 FM (which I still like to call WBMX) for years upon years, Clear Channel decided to back the Steve Harvey Morning show instead of the TJMS.
The public was angry, but Mr. Joyner had no hard feelings for Clear Channel:
Joyner told the Tribune after his show was pulled from V103 last month that, if he were in Clear Channel’s position, he would “probably do exactly the same thing because … strategically, it’s what they should have done.”
Poor Steve Harvey seems to always end up in a position that makes a brah wanna hate on him every since he started “DJing.” Even though most of us knew Mr. Joyner would most likely be back, the hate was still directed at the Original King of Comedy:
Harvey in the Chicago Tribune: “Somebody should explain to the people” upset he had replaced Joyner that “Tom Joyner is going to resurface in Chicago radio. If somebody would tell that to people, it would be better for people. But nobody’s telling them.”
Behold! All Tom Joyner fans in Chicagoland (that can pick up 106.3) can rejoice that he’s back already!
