Four People Critically Injured in Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO, IL – Shots rang out this morning on Chicago’s South Side a little after 1:00am on 71st and Vincennes.

There was “some type of unauthorized party” going on in a local business per Chicago Breaking News.  Violence broke out… shots rang out… and some witnesses report up to nine people getting shot.

There are reports that one injury could be fatal.

Victims were taken to Stoger, St. Benard, University of Chicago, and Christ.

Andrew Holmes, a community activist who arrived at the scene about 2:30 a.m., said he saw the body of a male victim lying on the ground between the street and an alley.

Holmes and others at the scene after the shootings said the attack occurred in a business. A car wash, a tire shop and a gas station are located on the block.

“It was some type of unauthorized party in this garage and then shots rang out,” he said, referring to accounts from witnesses of the attack.

No motive for the shooting is availible.  No suspects are in custody.
