Don Nelson reaches milestone with career win #1,300!

Even though the Golden State Warriors aren’t winning on a consistent basis this season, they did give head coach Don Nelson something to cherish last night.
With Golden State’s 133-120 win over Oklahoma City on Saturday, Nelson became just the 2nd coach in NBA History to reach 1,300 career victories.
Lenny Wilkens is 1st on the all-time list with 1,332 career head coaching wins, a record that Nelson could potentially break if he honors his current deal that runs through the 2011 season.
Warriors guard Jamal Crawford summed Nelson’s historic accomplishment up best with the following quote:
“I think he’s won twice as many games as I’ve even appeared in.”
In Nelson’s 30 years as a NBA head coach, his teams have made the playoffs in 18 seasons.
If Golden State continues at their current pace, it will be the lowest winning percentage for a Don Nelson coached team in his 30 years.
