SANTA ANA, CA – ChicagoBreakingNews.com reports that a jet coming from Orange County on it’s way to Cook County had to make an emergency landing when one of it’s engines failed.
The jet took off from John Wayne airport and was scheduled to land at O’Hare, but it had to be diverted to LAX.
American Airlines spokesman Billy Sanez said the engine on Flight 1236 died just minutes after takeoff at 3:21 p.m. Sunday. The 757, carrying 149 passengers and a crew of six, was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport, where it landed safely about 10 minutes later.
The incident is still under investigation.
