The Chicago Bulls celebrated former player & broadcaster Johnny Red Kerr’s glorious & longtime career with a beautiful halftime tribute during tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons.
Former Bulls Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Stacey King & John Paxson all took turns paying homage to the man who “made their playing days more fun as a professional athlete”.
Jordan even came out with his famous rosin powder that he used before games & clapped it in front of Kerr, just like he did before the start of every Bulls game.
Kerr also received videotaped messages from NBA commisioner David Stern & President (and self-proclaimed Bulls fan) Barack Obama.
Bulls GM John Paxson presented Kerr with a nice picture collage of himself & unveiled a statue of Kerr which will now be located outside of the United Center concourse.
Former Bulls broadcaster Jim Durham & current Phoenix Suns owner Jerry Colangelo also paid tribute to Kerr with speeches.
Kerr now joins Michael Jordan as the only two former Bulls to have statues of themselves at the United Center.
