LeBron James’ possible triple-double & historic effort erased…

Written by on February 7, 2009

Just 2 days after Kobe Bryant’s 61-point barrage at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks, LeBron James did his best on Wednesday night to try & top Bryant’s effort.

James nearly pulled it off after scoring 52 points, dishing out 12 assists & grabbing 10 rebounds against the Knicks during Cleveland’s 107-102 win.

The NBA corrected this on Friday, as James’ 10th rebound that was needed for a triple-double was credited to Ben Wallace, who had first possession after tapping a loose ball.

James almost became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968 to record both a 50 point AND a triple-double game.
