Colorado’s Recreational Weed Sales Top $14 Million in the First Month

Sam Walsh Colorado WeedThe state of Colorado legalized-it all the way, and now the state is taking that decision all the way to the bank. Fourteen-mill’ in sales translates to a cool two-mill’ in tax revenue. How are they going to spend the money? Doesn’t look like they’ve decided yet.

Monday’s tax release intensified lobbying over how Colorado should spend its pot money. Budget-writers expect the nascent marijuana industry to be extremely volatile for several years, making lawmakers nervous about how to spend the windfall. (ABCNews)

No matter what they spend it on, there’s sure to be some backlash from those who oppose legal weed in the first place. Some people will not be happy, no matter what. So they shouldn’t think about it too long. Just spend it.

And I know just what they should spend it on. The members of Congress from that state should each buy a GMC Yukon Denali with fat 34″ Asanti rims that spin. They should all get fat gold chains, the first Air Jordans, and I don’t know… matching pimp cups and shit.

However they choose to spend it, one thing is for certain. It’s clear that they finally figured out how to tax it.

I’ve never spun in Colorado, I’ve never had a book signing in Colorado, and heck, I don’t even know anybody in Colorado. But all of a sudden, I want to go to there.
