Happy Birthday Aaliyah from a big fan!
Popwatch.com brought up an interesting coincidence on how Biggie’s bio film came out on what would’ve been Aaliyah’s 30th birthday, and how the two popular performers left us before their time.
It seems strangely apropos that Jan. 16 marks both the nationwide opening of the Biggie biopic Notorious and what would have been the 30th birthday of Aaliyah — two artists whose outsized talents exceeded the too-short time they spent on the planet.
There is indeed a movie coming to tell the story of the short life of the beautiful and talented singer and actress. Huggy Bear told me that the word on the street is the role of Aaliyah will be played by Canadian singer and actress Keisha Chante.
Not a bad selection from what I can tell so far. Remember how J-Lo blew up after she played Salena. Who knows what the future has in store for this young lady.
Last we checked, there is no official trailer for the Aaliyah movie, but someone put some silly stuff together on Youtube that is getting some attention.
Once you look at it for five seconds you can pick apart how so very fake this “trailer” is.
But it’s kinda cute once you get past the obvious and use your imagination:
