This is a hot jam that grips the listener’s attention from the first note.
It reaps of passion for the artist’s home town. He reps his city well to the world.
We recently caught up with Godly Richesz. He was nice enough to answer a few questions for BMS Radio Chicago.
What is your music background?
I started to doing music at 10. However, I didn’t get serious until my mother passed. I was 27.
Who are your musical influences?
I like all kinds of music, especially Hip-Hop infused with R&B, but I like listening to all genres. My favorites are Tupac, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Biggie, and Nas.
What are your long-term career goals?
Hopefully, I will become one of the greatest to pick up a mic.
What type of recording process do you use and who produced your music?
I use the Flyer Den studio to make my music my music. It is produce by Collar Biz.
Do you ever get the chance to perform live?
I performed live once at Champions Bar in Trenton, New Jersey. It was my first time, so I experienced a little stage fright. However, I made it through.
Are you looking to remain independent or would you prefer a major label deal?
I would like a deal with a major label. It’s hard being independent and all alone with no help.
If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?
The message that they speak in today’s rap is not my idea of good music. All the violence and drugs need to go.
Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?
If you are a new artist, just be you and stick to your craft. Don’t let anyone change your style.
Anything else you want to say on the people?
Thank you to those who support me. I appreciate the love. You all motivate me to do my best.
