It has been confirmed that Johnny Kemp passed away. “Just Got Paid” was an enormous hit, and is an all time classic jam. Produced by Teddy Riley at a time when all he had to do was breathe on a track and that would make it a hit. Kemp was 55 years old.

Details are still unfolding about the Bahamian singer’s untimely passing. Kemp’s body was found floating on a beach on Montego Bay according to TMZ.

He was scheduled to be on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage cruise this weekend, however The Root got up on a statement from Rich Media, the company that handles the cruise.

“We have received confirmation that Johnny Kemp has passed away. We do not have any other details. We can confirm he was not on the ship for the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage Cruise,” Reach Media stated.

“Just Got Paid” is still an anthem for those who get paid on Fridays and don’t work weekends. This feel good song is loved by so many, that you don’t have to get paid on a Friday to enjoy it.
