Lady Robs Walmart but Leaves her Baby Niece Behind

Written by on September 2, 2014

Djuna M. Tansmore took a baby to Walmart where she attempted to steal a basket full of mayonnaise and laundry detergent. However, she got caught.

Rostraver Township Police Chief Greg Resetar says a struggle over the baby in a shopping cart began when security tried to detain the crook. Tansmore tried to pull her young niece from the baby seat. The criminal gave up and fled the scene, leaving her young niece behind.

“The straps weren’t released and it sort of tipped the cart, and she sort of was trying to shake it, moving around, trying to dislodge the baby from the mechanism,” Resetar said.

Video obtained by the station appears to show the baby in the seat being yanked back and forth with the cart nearly tipping, then being dragged behind the baby seat (Huff Post).

The baby’s parents later picked up the minor and identified Tansmore.

So, this lady thought she could run away from the scene of a crime she committed, leave a baby behind, and the police would never catch her? Wow, what a maroon. This situation is sad, but at the same time it’s unbelievably funny. No doubt a criminal that didn’t think things through.

She was later arrested and charged with retail theft, recklessly endangering another person, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children.

I don’t think she will be baby sitting that baby, or anyone’s baby anytime soon.
