Club Ned: America’s Very First Legal Cannabis Club

Colorado passed Amendment 64 a year ago. It made the purchase of recreational weed legal in that state. However, it is still illegal to smoke it in public or in the shops that sell it. Also, Colorado’s Clean Air Indoor Act prohibits any type of smoking indoors.
Cheryl and David Fanelli worked around all that. In a few weeks they will open Club Ned in Netherlands, Colorado. It will be the first legal marijuana club in the United States.
“Is this history? This is history,” David Fanelli said. “Are we pioneers? Maybe more than pioneers.”
Club Ned will be classified as a private club, similar to a Mason Lodge or an Elk’s Club. The Clean Air Indoor Act allows smoking inside of private clubs and lodges.
“It’s awesome, it’s really awesome,” Cheryl Fanelli said. “It’s been tough, but we’ve had the overwhelming support of the town, and without that it never would have gone through. The town deserves thanks for pushing it through.” (DailyCamera|HuffingtonPost)
The legalization of recreational weed has been a success in Colorado thus far. Meanwhile, Colorado is looking more and more like a desired vacation destination for many.
