Wendy’s to sell Lobster Burger in Japan

The ‘Hot n Juicy’ burgers at Wendy’s will be joined by a Lobster Burger in Japan. For about twenty bucks, peeps will be able to enjoy the new sandwich for a limited time. Lobster lovers in the United States will not be able to enjoy the new upscale sandwich.
Those of us that are allergic to shell fish like me won’t loose any sleep about not being able to get the sandwich in the US. Very interesting though.
“No plans for a lobster-and-hamburger sandwich here,” Wendy’s spokesman Bob Bertini told The Columbus Dispatch.
The new sandwiches are part of Wendy’s effort to get a foothold in the Japanese market. Wendy’s relaunched its franchise-expansion efforts into Japan in December 2011. But the seafood sandwiches will not be as affordable as the regular menu items and will reportedly cost around $20.
“Each market is different and seafood is a big part of the diet in Japan,” Bertini told CBS Cleveland.
Some other unusually posh items on the Wendy’s Japan menu include a porcini grilled chicken sandwich and a foie gras Rossini.
