The Brooklyn native has finally returned home.
Carmelo Anthony finished with 27 points & 10 rebounds in his Knick debut, as New York held off a late Milwaukee rally to win 114-108 on Wednesday evening at Madison Square Garden.
Anthony immediately made his presence felt, as his 27 points came just 2 shy of tying the Knicks’ 2nd highest point total all-time for a player making his team debut.
He admitted being “worn out” from All-Star weekend, but added that at the end of the day, a win is all that matters:
“To come in today, go straight from the press conference to the locker room, then got to get ready for a basketball game like this was a lot. But at the end of the day, the only thing that matters was a win.”
Chauncey Billups scored 21 points on 4-of-12 shooting & had 8 assists to go with 6 rebounds in 33 minutes of action in his Knicks debut.
The Knicks will travel to Cleveland on Friday to play the Cavaliers, but have a marquee game awaiting on Sunday evening against LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh & the Miami Heat in South Florida.
