In perhaps a consolation prize for missing out on Carmelo Anthony, the New Jersey Nets pulled off a huge trade on Wednesday to acquire 2-time All-Star Deron Williams from the Utah Jazz.
The trade comes a little after 2 weeks after the surprise midseason depature of veteran head coach Jerry Sloan, who reportedly had a confrontation with Williams the evening before his resignation from the team.
Williams finishes his Jazz career with 17.3 points & 9.1 assists per game in 439 games, and has an average of 21.1 points scored in 44 career playoff games.
In return, Utah will receive Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, two future 1st round draft picks & an undisclosed amount of cash.
