Cavaliers snap 26-game skid with overtime win over Clippers..

For the first time since December 18th of 2010, the Cleveland Cavaliers can call themselves winners.

The Cavaliers needed overtime to knock off the Los Angeles Clippers 126-119 on Friday evening from Quicken Loans Area, which snapped a new NBA futility record of 26 consecutive losses.

They might have gotten away with a blown no-call, as Baron Davis’ potential game-winning layup was blocked by Cleveland’s J.J. Hickson in the closing seconds of regulation.

Clippers’ superstar forward Blake Griffin did not agree with the officating all evening long:

“I can’t say what I think about all those things. That was unbelievable. Throughout the whole game, it was just unbelievable. That was the worst home-court advantage I’ve ever seen. There’s such a thing as home-court advantage, but that was unbelievable.”

Cleveland also got a boost from the return of Mo Williams, who played for the first time Friday in a month after being sidelined with a hip injury (17 points & 14 assists), and apparently had belief that the Cavs could snap the streak.

Teammate Daniel Gibson seemed to believe Williams’ words:

“He (Williams) gave us a huge lift. All game long he kept saying, ‘We ain’t losing this game.’ We all had that feeling.”

With the win, the Cavaliers avoided breaking a tie with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (27 straight losses from 1976-77) for the all-time losing streak among the four major sports.

Cleveland will try to put together their first multi-win streak together in over 3 months on Wednesday, as they will host the defending two-time champion Los Angeles Lakers.
