The Green Bay Packers used a 28-point second quarter to help put away the Atlanta Falcons, as they posted a 48-21 blowout win at the Georgia Dome on Saturday evening to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
Aaron Rodgers put together a big game in directing his 2nd straight road playoff win, as he completed 31 of 36 passes for 366 yards & threw for 3 touchdowns, while he also added 1 rushing touchdown on the ground.
The big play in this one came right before halftime, as Tramon Williams stepped in front of an intended pass for Roddy White & returned it for a 70-yard touchdown to stun the crowd at the Georgia Dome.
Williams said that he read it all the way to make a game-breaking play:
“I recognized the formation. I knew they were trying to get into position for a field goal.”
Matt Ryan will now have to face more questions of whether he’s ready to become a big-time quarterback, as he’s now 0-2 in the playoffs with 6 total turnovers:
“Anytime you’re in the playoffs, you have an opportunity to win it all. When that doesn’t happen, it’s frustrating.”
Green Bay will now travel to either Seattle or Chicago for next Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at 2pm CST.
