In a game where the Chicago Bears had nothing to play for, they gave a great battle for over 3 quarters, but wound up losing 10-3 to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon from Lambeau Field.
The win means that the Bears & Packers will be in the postseason together for the first time since 2001.
It was a sluggish offensive display on both sides until Aaron Rodgers hit Donald Lee for a 1-yard touchdown early into the 4th quarter, which turned out to be the game-winner.
One positive from Sunday’s game was Matt Forte going over the 1,000 yard mark for the first time since his rookie season, as he rushed 15 times for 91 yards.
After allowing 34 points to the Jets last week, Lance Briggs was pleased with his team’s defensive effort on Sunday:
“This was a good preparation for the playoffs. We’ve got a bye next week, but I know a lot of guys feel good about going into the playoffs. The last couple of weeks teams have been scoring a lot of points on us. It was important to us for the Packers to only get 10 points.
The Bears will take the field again on Sunday, January 16th at 12pm at Soldier Field for the Divisional Playoffs, while the Packers will travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles for a Wild Card game on Sunday, January 9th at 3:30 pm.
