Not even the two-time defending NBA champions could slow down the red-hot Heat.
LeBron James (27 points, 11 rebounds & 10 assists) put together his third triple-double of the season, as the Miami Heat recorded an impressive 96-80 win over the Los Angeles Lakers from the STAPLES Center, which now gives them 14 wins in their last 15 games.
Despite the blowout win, James reiterated that it wasn’t a statement game:
“We’re not trying to make a statement to anyone. We’re trying to show each other that we can play at a high level. We’re happy because we got better today.”
Chris Bosh scored 24 points & grabbed 13 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade added 18 points.
Kobe Bryant scored 17 for the Lakers, and is not happy with his team’s recent lackluster play of late:
“It’s like these games mean more to our opponents than they do to us. I think we need to get that straight—play with more focus, put more (emphasis) on these games. I don’t like it. … We know what we’re capable of doing, and that’s part of the problem.”
Los Angeles will have 2 off days before traveling to San Antonio for another marquee matchup with the 25-4 Spurs.
