The sell-out crowd at Texas Stadium on Saturday evening saw an absolute clinic put on by Manny Pacquiao, as he overcame a 5 inch, 17-pound disadvantage to dominate Antonio Margarito for the WBC title.
Pacquiao dominated the fight from start to finish, while Margarito had less than 50% vision by the middle of the match with his right eye shut, courtesy of Pac Man’s quick left hooks.
He even had some sympathy for his wounded opponent, as he pleaded with the referees several times to stop the fight:
“I told the referee, `Look at his eyes, look at his cuts. I did not want to damage him permanently. That’s not what boxing is about.”
Pacquiao earned an estimated $15 million from Saturday’s fight, while his next opponent at this time is unknown.
Will it be Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr? Stay tuned….
