A bad offensive line & horrendous 3rd down play doomed the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon from Soldier Field, as the Seattle Seahawks piled up 353 yards of total offense during their 23-20 win.
Jay Cutler has been sacked an alarming 15 times in his past 2 games, which could force the Bears to make even more offensive line switches, as Chris Williams debuted today at left guard.
Chicago had a brief lead after Matt Forte’s 6-yard touchdown run to put them up 7-0 in the 1st quarter, but Seattle tied it up 2 & a half minutes later on Matt Hasselbeck’s 22-yard touchdown pass to Deon Butler.
The Seahawks then took the lead for good, as Justin Forsett’s 9-yard touchdown run put them up 14-7 with 14:51 remaining before halftime.
The Bears tried for one last comeback attempt as Devin Hester returned a Jon Ryan punt 89 yards for a touchdown to pull themselves within 3.
Robbie Gould’s onside kick attempt was then recovered by Seattle, as they ran out the clock to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Johnny Knox had his biggest game to date, as he caught 5 receptions for a career-high 120 yards. (first career game with 100 or more receiving yards)
Chicago will drop to 4-2 & will host Washington next Sunday at 12pm at Soldier Field.
