White Sox acquire Manny Ramirez..

In an effort to provide some much needed power from the designated hitter position, the Chicago White Sox acquired 12-time All-Star, 2-time World Series winner & 2004 World Series MVP Manny Ramirez on Monday in a waiver deal from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The White Sox hopes Ramirez’s impressive career stats come true to form in September, as he is currently tied with Alex Rodriguez among the active leaders in grand slams with 21.

He also has 28 career postseason home runs, which is the highest among any player in MLB history.

It’s been a rough 2010 season though for Ramirez, as he’s spent three different stints on the disabled list and got ejected during Sunday’s loss to Colorado on just one pitch for arguing a strike call during a pinch-hit appearence.

Ramirez could make his White Sox debut on Tuesday against Cleveland, whom he spent his first 8 seasons with.
