Roy Oswalt pounded in Phillies’ debut..

Roy Oswalt’s debut for the Philadelphia Phillies didn’t go smoothly on Friday evening, as he gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits in 6 innings during the Washington Nationals’ 7-1 win.
Oswalt is the 2nd straight ace that the Phillies made a deadline blockbuster deal for, as they acquired Cliff Lee from the Cleveland Indians exactly one year ago (July 29th) on Thursday.
He admitted to being “amped up” afterwards, but also added that he’s excited about his future with a talented team that’s won the last two NL pennants.
“It’s different for sure. This team is good from top to bottom. It’s good to get on a pitching staff with (Roy) Halladay and (Cole) Hamels and the other guys. It’s hard to gain 30 games overnight.”
Philadelphia is just 3.5 games behind Atlanta for 1st place in the NL East, as their 8-game winning streak came to an end on Friday.
