Edwin Jackson throws no-hitter against Tampa Bay!

He suffered through 8 walks and 149 pitches to do it, but Edwin Jackson was able to make history.
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ righthander threw a no-hitter on Friday evening during their 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in one of the most weirdest statlines you will ever see.
It’s the second time already this season Tampa Bay’s been on the wrong side of history, as Oakland’s Dallas Braden threw a perfect game against them on May 9th.
Jackson was definitely appreciative that his feat happened on Friday against his former team:
“It was definitely a great feeling, especially after those first few innings. … After the fifth I looked up and said ‘Wow’ there’s no hits. It’s one of those bittersweet moments. You throw a no hitter and it’s against your old team. At least it’s with a crowd that you’ve had accomplishment with and you can do in front of someone who will appreciate it.”
It’s also the highest-pitched no-hitter since Livan Hernandez needed 150 pitches to no-hit the Florida Marlins on June 3rd, 2005.
Jackson threw just the 2nd career no-hit game in Diamondbacks’ history, as Randy Johnson also did it against Atlanta on May 18th, 2004.
