It took just 33 seconds within the opening tip for a scuffle to develop, as Ron Artest & Paul Pierce both received double-techinicals.
As far as the game went, it was all Los Angeles.
The Lakers built up a 2o-point 2nd half lead, as they beat the Boston Celtics 102-89 in Game 1 of the 2010 NBA Finals. It was their 12th consecutive playoff win at the STAPLES Center, which is a streak that dates back to Game 2 of the 2009 Western Conference Finals against Denver.
Boston had trouble keeping Los Angeles off the glass, as Pau Gasol (14 rebounds) almost outrebounded the Celtics’ entire frontline of Kendrick Perkins, Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce. (16 rebounds)
Kobe Bryant put in another spectacular all-around performance with 30 points, 7 rebounds & 6 assists.
If the Celtics want to tie things up on Sunday, they’ll need a better effort out of Ray Allen. The sharpshooting guard scored just 12 points in 27 minutes in Game 1 while being hounded with 5 fouls.
Game 2 is set for Sunday evening at 7:00 PM cst from Los Angeles.
