With his Miami Heat in a must-win situation on Sunday afternoon, Dwyane Wade personally made sure that his team would live to fight another day.
He did just that after a spectacular performance in which he poured in a playoff career-high 46 points during Miami’s 101-92 win over Boston, which will now force a Game 5 on Tuesday.
Celtics head coach Doc Rivers called Wade’s performance “Phenomenal”. Heat forward Quentin Richardson summed it up even better:
“Sometimes, you know, he puts on the cape, man. There’s not a lot of things you can do when he’s playing that way.”
Prior to Sunday, Wade’s previous-best playoff game was on June 18th, 2006 as he scored 43 points in Miami’s 100-99 Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.
