Ubaldo Jimenez no-hits the Braves!

Ubaldo Jimenez put his name into the Colorado Rockies’ record books tonight, as he became the 1st pitcher in franchise history to throw a no-hitter during Saturday’s 4-0 win over the Atlanta Braves.
He was dominant from the 6th inning on, as he didn’t allow a single baserunner after issuing six walks in his first 5 innings of work.
The no-hitter would have probably never happened if it weren’t for Dexter Fowler’s spectacular defensive gem, as he made a beautiful diving catch in left-center to rob Troy Glaus of a hit in the 7th inning.
The 26-year old Jimenez was aware of his no-hit bid throughout the game & knew that he had a chance to do something special:
“Probably after the seventh inning I was like ‘Whoa, there’s only two innings left. I have a chance to do this.”
It’s the first no-hitter for Major League baseball since Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game against Tampa Bay on July 23rd, 2009.
The three remaining teams that have yet to toss a no-hitter are the Padres, Mets & Devil Rays.
