One of the NFL’s most consistent pass rushers has decided to call it quits, as 11-year veteran Patrick Kerney announced his retirement on Tuesday.
Kerney’s career 82.5 sacks ranked 8th on the active list, which was right below Dwight Freeney (84) & above Julius Peppers (81).
He only had one instance in where he had back-to-back seasons of 10 sacks or more in 2001 & ’02 with the Atlanta Falcons & had a career-high 14.5 sacks with Seattle in 2007.
Kerney made 2 Pro Bowls over his 11-year career & was named the 2007 NFC Defensive Player of the Year.
