Breaking News: Santonio Holmes traded to Jets

Just one year ago, he was named MVP of Super Bowl XLIII. Now, he’s headed to the Big Apple.
The New York Jets continued their offseason splurge by acquiring Santonio Holmes from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 5th round draft pick late Sunday evening.
Holmes might not be available to help his new team right away, as he is reportedly facing a 4-game suspension from the NFL for violating its’ substance-abuse policy.
In addition to this, Holmes is still being investigated by Orlando police in a civil lawsuit by an unnamed woman who claimed that the 26-year old wide receiver threw a drink at her, which caused a laceration near her eye.
The trade comes after a season which saw Holmes establish career-highs in receptions (79), receiving yards (1,248) & first downs (63).
Unless the Steelers make a Draft Day trade later this month, 34-year old Hines Ward will be their #1 receiver heading into the 2010 season.
