Charlotte Bobcats clinch 1st ever playoff berth!

In a game which they blew a 26-point lead, the Charlotte Bobcats nearly slipped away an opportunity to lock up their 1st ever playoff berth in franchise history.

D.J. Augustin saved the day, as his go-ahead basket with 16 seconds remaining proved to be the difference in a 104-103 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday evening.

Stephen Jackson led the Bobcats with 29 points, while former Bull Tyson Chandler added 16 points & 10 rebounds.

The Hornets lost despite 36 points from rookie forward Marcus Thornton, which finished just a point shy of tying his career-high (37 against Cleveland on February 2nd).

If the playoffs start today, Charlotte would play Orlando in the 1st round.

Wednesday’s win also marks the eighth different team that Larry Brown has coached into the playoffs, which joins the Nuggets, Spurs, Clippers, Pacers, 76ers & Pistons in his 25-year career.
