The Dallas Mavericks completed a trade on Saturday evening that will send forwards Josh Howard & Drew Gooden to the Washington Wizards for 2-time All-Star forward Caron Butler & center Brendan Haywood.
Butler’s numbers have dipped recently, as his field-goal percentage, three-point percentage, assists & steals have gone down in each of his past 3 seasons.
He was enjoying a successful February before the deal, as he’s currently averaging 24.7 PPG on 45% shooting.
Josh Howard has also been on the decline in recent years, as he’s currently averaging career-lows in field-goal percentage (40.1%), three-point percentage (26.7%), rebounds per game (3.6) & points per game (12.5).
DeShawn Stevenson will also go to Dallas while Quinton Ross & James Singleton will be headed to Washington.
