In a surprising move, the Los Angeles Clippers announced Thursday that Mike Dunleavy has stepped down from his head coaching position, but will remain as the team’s general manager.
The Clippers only had 1 winning season in Dunleavy’s 6 full years there, which resulted in a Conference Semifinals loss to Phoenix.
In his 16 seasons of coaching experience, Mike Dunleavy’s Lakers made the NBA Finals in his rookie season, but he has failed to get back there since with just 5 playoff appearences.
Kim Hughes will take over as interim coach & will make his debut on Saturday at home against San Antonio.
